Thank you for joining me for “Things To Do In Arizona For Free”. This week we are going to visit downtown Tempe, Arizona. Tempe Town Lake.

Little known fact #1.

Tempe was prone to floods in the 1800’s . The dam over the salt lake actually burst in 2010. This led the town to do renovations to the dam and the bridge. This led to the draining and refilling of the river. Fast forward to today and now Tempe town lake is a place for families to gather, catch some sun, relax, and enjoy the beautiful view.

Adjacent to the town lake is the Tempe Center for the Arts which opened in 2007. Inside the center holds a 600 seat theater, a 200 seat studio theater, and a 3,500 square foot gallery. Walk with me as I share my visit at Tempe Town Lake. Press the link to the video here.

As you can see in the video, there are also events that take place at the park in Tempe Town Lake. The weekend that I went to visit, they were setting up tables and tents for Autism Awareness. The next event will be the Ironman triathlon on November 16th.

Little known fact #2.

Due to the fact that the summers in Arizona being so hot, the best time to visit, is Oct-April. In the summer, it hits triple digits and the heat advisories should always be followed. When most of the country is going through winter with cold winds, snow, sleet, and ice, Arizona has beautiful weather which requires a sweater or light jacket at most.

So, what do you think? Would you like to see gorgeous blue skies, beautiful birds, happy people walking dogs, scooters and bikes riding past, and picnics by the lake? If you said yes, I think you will love Tempe Town Lake in downtown Tempe Arizona. Bring a friend, bring the family, and enjoy the good life! Until next week, Never forget, “More Joy For Less Coin!”
