“There is nothing in Arizona”. “Why are you going to the desert”? “There is nothing but cactus there”. These are a few negative things that me and my family heard before we moved across country to live in Arizona.
After living in Arizona for over 9 years, we have come up with a list of 10 things you need to know about Arizona. Please watch the detailed YouTube video with all the tips here. 👇Please make sure you like and subscribe!

Let’s run down these 10 things (and tips) again.
- Arizona heat is not like any other I have EVER felt. The triple digits all summer long will really test your patience.
- Arizona water is just like other states. We have all heard about those cities or towns where the locals tell you, “not to drink the water”. We even gave you a few tips on how to deal with the hard water.
- Arizona traffic. It’s not as bad as California, or Chicago, but you still have to be very careful. Driving without car insurance is definitely not something you EVER want to do!
- Arizona’s employment. You are either in, or you are out, there is no maybe.
- Arizona’s housing/apartment rentals. We talked about the prices it use to be, versus what is going on today.
- Brick apartments. This went with number 5. It was the oddest thing to see a fully brick apartment, and it was NOT public housing.
- Apartment tips. We talked about things you should know. We gave you tips on the normal and not so normal procedures.
- The surrounding areas. We talked about Phoenix, and all of the surrounding areas of Maricopa county.
- Transportation. A lot of people will tell you it is too hot in Arizona not to have a car. Yes, the summers are unbearable, but when I travel on public transportation, it is always full. We gave you tips on how to get around without a car. (this part was a piggyback from my other blog post a couple of weeks ago).
- The last tip. The people in Arizona. We touched bases on racism, safe, and unsafe people in Arizona.
Bonus: Needless to say, the video and these tips are geared toward my target audience. People who are on a budget, penny-pinchers, regular working class people.🥰 If this is not you, you will love Arizona and have no problem with housing, employment, or anything else. To that I say, “Good for you”. For everyone else, I hope my YouTube channel, and blog has helped you.
The final tip I have for everyone is to take everything one day at a time.
